I need to get some input from you highly intelligent fishermen out there at “The Ramp”
The IBC (Irving Bass Club) has an issue that needs to be resolved involving our April Open on Lake Fork next year. This will be our 60th tournament at Fork which is always held on the third weekend of the month. It seems that the Toyota Texas Bass Classic is coming back to Fork and they have scheduled it on the same weekend as our tournament. Here’s the question should we continue as planed or should move the date? What do you think? I asked the question at the lake during last week open but the response was poor so I really couldn’t get a good read on folks. I would greatly appreciate your opinions on this as I will share it with the new IBC board

Wrong ramp:-)

I'm in favor of tradition and say keep the date.

Any chance to work it out so anglers can fish both:-)

I'm torn... There will be a large amount of traffic on the lake following those guys and it will definately impact the fishing. We are only talking about another 25 boats or something like that with the pros though. It is all the other stuff that comes along with the PAA event that folks would have to decide to go to or not.

Hmmmmmm.....

I personally believe the turn out for the IBC would suffer if you held it the same weekend as the PAA event.

Maybe you can call the PAA and ask them to change their date... :-)
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Tradation are called traditions for a reason. I wouldn't change the date. Never been on fork, but would think that there would be plenty of room for your bass club.

This is a tough one. Hard to say what it would do for IBC turnout if held on the same weekend as the TBC. It will be very hard for folks to get rooms with all the out-of-towners coming in. What kind of press would IBC get if the tourney is held the same weekend?
I would suggest doing a thorough search for other tournaments as well and see there are other conflicts if IBC does decide to move it.
I think I would favor moving it up to April 12th, unless there is another local LARGE tournament that would compete with IBC entries. i.e. Legends, Skeeter or something of that magnatude.
Thanking Him, all day long

I think we should move it to another weekend. But then again I am out of touch with the money tournament fishing crowd.

Oz.. Kay and I were on the lake that weekend and the traffic wasn't bad at all.
Of course Friday and Saturday the wind was blowing 30-mph... really..

Sunday the final day was perfect and we could fish anywhere we wanted..
Occasionally you'd see a rooster tail flying down the boat lane with about 25-30 boats in HOT pursuit. It was kinda funny looking.

I don't think the TTBC would effect your tournament much.. How ever Media Fork division is that weekend too I believe. Now that could get a little crowed.
We've all shared the water before without any problem.

Check the dates for 08... I may be mistaken..

Fork bound shortly..
Billy
