Hey maybe some of you guys can tell me how this matchplay thing the TFF is doing. I know they are looking for some new teams and I have a couple of good sticks that want in. Billy I know you are on a team and maybe shed some light on this man.

Zach I fished two season, it's a lot of fun.
I've made some great friends thru the Match Play
format and some good contacts in the fishing community.

Basically, Teams are formed consisting of two man squads, each team will have the same number of squads and matches are drawn randomly pitting
different teams in "Matches" for the assigned month.
Last year all the matches were drawn prior to the season's kick off, and everyone knew who they had matches with for every month.

When the season starts, it's up to each squad to arrange their match for the month with the opposing squad thru contact info provided
by Match play officials e-mail addys, phone# etc..

Once both squads agree on a lake and a date is set, the Match is on.. May the best squad win..

The winner gets 3-points and the loser gets 1-point, draws are 2-points for each team. There were several draws last year..

I had a match with Mark Perry and Mike Petrovic that ended in a tie.. So it does happen.

A form provided to each Captain will have too be filled out and emailed to the match play officials for recording purpose's..

The two teams with the best record at the end of the season, will go head to head in an all out Team vs Team on one lake at the same time for the Championship and all the CASH $$$.

I fished on Team Elite last year and I believe they're looking for few new squads..

Good luck Zach..

I have been interested in the Match Play since it started but I can't seem to bring myself to make the time for the additional travel.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

I had a team last year and it was very difficult getting 4 guys to agree on a lake and then agree on a date. Most of these guys are fishing other events or they don't fishing anything so it's really a challange at times. If guys could do it while fishing Media or somethiong it would be great. I was never able to do that. Also everyone wantys to fish Metroplex lakes. Joe pool, Looserville, Grapevine etc... I like staying east...

Thanks Billy, yeah I heard they are looking for a few new squads and it sounds pretty interesting. Who do I need to contact to get a team together email or phone#. Are you going to fish with Elite again? And is it a two person squad and how many squads to a team.

Zach,
Contact Jody "weekender" on the tff PM him and he can give you what you seek... Matt Mayfield
on Elite may or may not take the lead this year.
I'm not sure whatz going on there yet !! I will soon.. I had two good years, but momma thinks I'm busy enough this year. So no, I'm not competing..

Ea. squad is a two man team, I think it hasn't been determined yet as to haw many squads per Team..... as of today..

This may be the truest thing posted in the history of fishing forums.

There has been some talk about scaling it down to 3 squad teams. Also, Team Sweeeet retired, and they are looking to add a team or two I believe.
