Hey all,

It has been quite a while since I have posted. Been an involentary job change and a few other things going on in my life.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a GOOD crappie spot near Tyler. I want to get my 13 year old Step daugher to be involved in fishing. Her father has not really been a positive influence in her life and I want to get her interested in the outdoors more. I figured a HOT crappie spot would be the place to start. I don't hve a boat so docks or some other place from shore would work best. Somewhere somewhat close to Tyler?

Don't know about on the docks or banks this time of year but I know they're biting out at the dam on fork....another good spot to fish from the bank for any kind of fish is Tyler State Park. I used to there when I was younger and remember catching some decsent fish off their dock. FishAgg this was several years ago but I think the park is still there...never know til you try.

Welcome back aggie88... Great to see you posting again.

TSP gave ol' Ozziefish on here at double digit bass last year I believe. I have only been there once but it was in the dead of winter and I caught a bunch of rainbow trout. I'm sure you will be able to catch some fish there. It may be too early to catch many crappie up shallow. In march you will have a better chance at getting the slabs from the shoreline.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Mike,

I figured it might be a bit early as well. She is not to much for the cold so when it warms up a bit (Marchish) I hope to have a hot spot lined up to take her.

I think they catch Crappie out of the Nueces River entering Lake Palestine near the Hwy 31 bridge.
