Went out Friday the 8-th of Feb for 2 1/2 hrs put 10 in the boat.

Went out Saturday for the day put 20 in the boat lost about 7-8 fish.
I had the pleasure of taking a young man out for his first trip on Fork this past weekend, needless too say he's hooked.

He lost a few early on, but got the hang of it and did real good.

I took him to a big fish spot and sur-nuf he hung a good'un, she wrapped him up and broke off at the hook.
He was shook up for more than a hour after that, I kept hearing him mumble "man, that was a big fish" hehehehehe !!!!

Great things are ahead on Fork very soon don't miss out, get there before the croweds show up in large numbers.
There was a good deal of traffic out Saturday- Already.

The grass is perfect right now, and the water temps are on the rise.

Media next weekend, or I'd reveal more details.. Good luck and good fishing y'all.

P.S.
I talked to Tommy C. last night on the way home.
They were whack'n some good fish too, they plan on staying a couple more days.

I would have loved to be out there today. The water is getting right Temp wise, and the fish were on the bite.
I fully expect to here a *WE Caught a Ton of Fish* report from Tommy when they get back.

We managed to make a Saturday trip into a 3-day affair. Fishing was slow for us over the entire trip though we did have some interesting moments over the three days.
We stumbled into a decent grassy area on Saturday and saw an 8 lber floating kind of half alive. We tried to help revive the fish and I think it may have lived. Chuck proceeded to catch a 7+ there on a swim bait. Later that day in the same area, Chuck hooked a monster on a trap and the fish came up and rolled and then unbuttoned. This thing looked like a locomotive cruising when Chuck hooked it. He said it was by far the biggest fish he had ever hooked and he has an over 10 to his credit from Fork.
We fished a ton of new water, (at least, new for me) and had a great time out there. Water temps were mostly in the 51-55 range all three days.
We had 5, 5, and 6 fish if I remember correctly with 3 over 5 lbs on Saturday. By the middle of the 2nd and 3rd days I was taking 3-4 ibuprofens at a time and washing them down with beer. Throwing traps can be a killer after a day or two.
And last but not least, we were paid a visit by the local game warden on Saturday. He let me off for not having a throw cushion and let Chuck off for having an expired license. Chuck couldn’t believe that he forgot to renew but he was living in Denver most of the last year and the license that he bought was from last July.
Can you believe that???? Two violations and NO TICKETS!!! We rock!!!!!! Actually we were thanking the Lord for that one. The warden commented that I didn’t even want to know how much the ticket for a throw cushion would have been. I think what saved us was that we were both wearing our PFD’s when he happened upon us. Anyways, he wrote us a couple of warnings and Chuck went into town and picked up a new license and cushion. That is the 3rd time I have been checked in the last year and he was the first warden that asked me about a throw cushion. Maybe it was because I was by myself the last two times? I knew that was the law but forgot to put it back in after a boat re-org. A lot of good it was doing me in the garage.
Looks like it could be a wet weekend coming up. At least that should cut down on the number of boats out there for your tourney Saturday. Good luck to you all and I hope that I get a chance to join in.
Thanking the Lord, all day long
