Well some of y'all know I went through a round of layoff back 1 October. During the past few months of job/soul searching, I focused on quality of life vs anything else. I am a technology guy, a profession that does not render a typical urban lifestyle. I stuck to my plan of focus, urban living, and a quality of life away from the big city. I had dozens of opportunities in Houston or Dallas, just could not do it anymore. Therefore, my task was tough to find a match but I kept to my focus areas, NW San Antonio and out into Gillsipie/Kerr counties and beyond. God's country in Texas. I simply did not want to leave it. This is where I want to be, not in one of the big 5 cities.

Well today, I nailed that job. Information Technology position in Bourne, between Kerrville and San Antonio. I have a dual role in this position. I am standing up a new technical services office for my Technology Home company, providing IT services to the Texas Healthcare industry in the Hill Country and S.Texas regions. My new office is located in Bourne, at the HQ Office of a S.Texas custom home builder company. The custom home builder firm has offices in Brownsville, McAllen and Laredo. So I will provide onsite technical support to the Home builder organization, primary and do other work for my home office, into the Texas hills, in a Health Care Information Technology role as a secondary position. Essentially I will not be bored, some local travel for a break and the organizations are laid back, not political and full of outdoor folks.

So I have two jobs in one, with that stated, I am networking big time. The guys I work for, both sides, hunt and fish. The parent company, chase game fish offshore out of Port Aransas, got the offshore boat, and a condo in Port A and go all the time. The custom home builder folks, deer hunt S.Texas and here in the Hills with a couple of them members of a Guadalupe river Kayak fishing club. I got wind of this kayak river club at Bass Pro Shop, talking to the flyfishing guru there, well I guess I'm onboard with that now too...twist my arm lol! I couldn't believe it! Outdoor folks on both sides!

I turned my job search all over to God. I simply leaned on him to show me where I needed to be at this period of my life. He already knew where I wanted to be.

Man I am absolutely STOKED!!!!

WOW... That is awesome Rob! Congrats on what sounds like a perfect fit for you. Not many folks get that and you held out and put your faith into it -- and it worked.

That is great news indeed and you have my permission to raise a cold one to celebrate!!!
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Speaking of selling businesses Richard, I just happen to know of a telecom company that would compliment your business very nice!

Congrats Rob! I know you were tempted at times but it sounds like your decision paid off. You need to get Simek on as your assistant now.
