Billy,

I think the way they (The Guides) get around the rule is the 60 day. I'm confident, that if one of the guides are in the money the polygrapher will wear them out.

On a side note, I sure would hate to be the TD if one of the guides won the event:-)

They wouldn't be entered if they have taken a trip 60 days prior. Same rules for everyone. At least you all get to compete against more of the best out there.
It's not looking good for fishing for me Saturday.
Today was my first day at Toyota of Rockwall. They are planning a "everyone get to know everyone" family gathering Saturday. They are expecting everyone to be there. Does not look like there is a way around this one unless they reschedule for some reason. That is what I am hoping for since the construction is still going on heavily
I was really looking forward to donating.
Thanking the Lord, all day long

Guides...... ha we aint scared!

Yeah I'm real good friends with Tim Walker and was there when he talked to David Haas. The way they are getting around this first event is exactly what Charles said....they haven't had a legit guide trip in the aloted time. At least I know that is the case for Tim. Anyway this time of year it won't matter...it's gonna be interesting what happens on Saturday. I hope its raining and blowing like a son of a gun.

Good Luck

Well, if they can get in this first one then they are in for the rest of the year because of the rule stating "if you fished the previous event"...

I'm not too worried about the guides from a competition standpoint -- just another team to beat. It does seem morally wrong to me though and will impact a lot of anglers opinion of the event. It's a can of worms Haas won't like having opened.

Guys and Gals (Kay & Wes) go whoop some butt out there!! Guides or no guides they fall just like all the rest. Looks like Michele and I will be sitting out this one so that’s one team out of the way ;) Billy, it's your time to defend the title and PQ you need a top 10 showing in your new wrapped boat. PQ- Let Charles catch a few fish too!! I remember last year no that was an A** Whooping for real!! If I don't go hunting for Diamonds in Arkansas this weekend as planned I'll be there for weight-in. Best of luck to all the FTN members and be safe!!

Thanks OZ...

I believe it does affect the integrity of the event, with what seems too a be flood of professionals interested in this trail.

They must think it'll be easy pick'ns I
guess. Those guys usually go after slots for there clients. One, I know is a big fish guy only.

It's a lot harder to intentionally target those perfect 15-3/4 inch fish than most people would think, as many of you guys know it's not that easy.

Fishing is fishing, and I've competed against most of them (the guides) at one time or another
over the years..

So.... bring it, cause I sure am...

I dread the cold/wet syndrome more than
any guide....

Good luck!! I'll be pulling for ya!

It is confirmed that we are out also this month.
My next target day to fish at all is March 15th, unless there are some kind of delays in opening.
With the dealership just opening, April 19th might be a more realistic date to take a Saturday off.
Here's hoping for checks to all the FTN members. Go get 'em you all. Best of luck and be safe!
Will look forward to seeing picks with smiley folks holding checks.
Thanking the Lord, all day long

Guides put their pants on one leg at a time just like we do.....Hell if I was them I would be scared of guys like us that try and catch those 15 inchers. But it will be interesting if one wins.....wouldn't want to be ol Haas:-).

Not sure, but I checked the early entries and no longer see Walker on there. There is a scratch at #15. Charles and I are taking off in the 23rd position so hopefully we get out before the rains start -- I hate rolling across the lake in the rain... :-)

Good luck to everyone in all of their tournaments this weekend and I hope we all place in the money!!!

Gary,

It was a good day for fishing despite the weather forecast. We were very fortunate the storms held off. Mike and I had a limit with 9.12. Cut off for a check was 16 place with 9.68 (I think). First place was an incredible 11.something. Hughs and Dyson had a good limit too.

Guides:::
Ray Vereen, and Randy Oldfield..

Hey I didn't see ZEETER ??? What tha !!!!

Zach, where were you Brother....?? I dang near saw everyone else.. I was real busy.

For some reason about half my neighbor hood showed up????
I have no idea why.. I guess Billy the one that got DQ'ed, must have talked too a few of them while they were changing clothes at home before weigh-in.

Man.. I tell ya, the bite was ON............. We caught some great fish ALL day long..And lost 6-good weighers, that was our down fall. I can't remember losing that many fish in competition.
We stuck'um, just couldn't keep'm on the hook.

I had no less than 11 or 12 slot fish maybe more I lost count, up to 8-lbs, 2-7's, 6's and 5's out the wazoo.. It was fun...

We got a check-- barely.

I was there man just a little awe struck at the freaking stringers coming in. Man what a day fishing though....it was like a light switch turned on I guess. We had 9.42 lbs and ended up in 18th just out of the money. Never would of guessed it would of taking 11 to win without an over. Oh well.

Billy congrats to you and kay on the check! Everytime I saw you you were talking to someone else and I was in the back with Picou, Walker and all those knuckle heads.

How many you think are fishing JC this week end and how do you think the pay out will be?

Charles and I had a pretty good day on the water but apparently not as good as some. That 9.12 stringer of ours was good enough for 21st place and a solid start to the season.

I'm still floored at the weights that came in and realizing that next event will be even harder to get a check. The fish are thick right now and hopefully they stay that way the entire year.

Congrats Billy & Kay on getting a check.

Thank you very much Gents...

It was 11.74 don't forget that .74 WOW.. dang near 12-lbs Burns and Burns hit the yellow brick road. They were scheduled to fish Texoma
and they cancelled it..

Those two just dropped the T/M and started banging fish like Tommy C did a couple weeks back.

Zach, it's looking like a real good turn out for the JCO... prolly 30+ boats maybe more, everyone wants to get into the Action on Fork right now..

It was a Frustrating/////Fun day.. Mixed emotions
on the water, verses standing at the weigh-in line..
All those slots were fun, but no good for any thing else.. It was very enjoyable seeing every one again. The fellowship among competitive anglers is always fun.. Fantastic group of
guys.
