This past weekend my family and I went to vist my Dad who just happens to live on a small lake in east Texas. The plan was to spend some time on his dock perch jerking. Well, the water must still be too cold as their were no perch to be found. So, I switched gears and tied on weightless lizards and chunked them out as far as I could. This seemed to be the ticket as we started catching some bass. Saturday we ended up with 8 and Sunday we had 9. Keep in mind we only spent a few hours fishing each day.

Here's a few things I learned fishing from a dock:

1. All the fish we caught are were the boats are floating.

2. You will pick the water apart and find the sweet spot.

3. My 13 year old son who has never showed much interest in fishing has mastered casting with baitcaster reels.

4. My wife has mastered the art of untangling backlashes but is making improvements on her casting abilities.

5. My 7 year old daughter doesn't like like bass fishing and wishes the perch would come back.

6. Being boatless is priceless!

As soon as I can get my Dad to send me the pictures I'll be sure to post them.

Sounds like a good time thats for sure. I had the Kids down this weekend too and I think little Wes now has the hang of the baitcaster and little PQ was still hoping for the Perch and Crappie to move in like your little one ;)

I got a question for you knuckle-heads. Did someone open a strip-club there in Williams or what. Man it looked like Saturday Night Fever was going on with all those neon lights on that dock...pretty sweet looking deal at night if you ask me. We were all wandering cause Tim said he couldn't get no sleep with all those lights flashing and stuff....hehehehe:-)

Did you all see that or not? (pretty freaking sweet)

They really lit it up over there didn't they... :-)

I would have thought Tim would be use to those type of lights with his Disco past... (maybe that's the problem -- disco ghosts :-)
