While the boat was tied to the dock at weigh in, I noticed the floor by my hotfoot was wet. That seemed odd since we did not take on any water running across the lake. I turned on the bilge and it shot out water for 15 or 20 seconds. The boat sat in the water for another hour or so while we waited for the check and when we loaded it on the trailer I pulled the plug. Water poured out of the boat and I knew something was wrong. I started inspecting the hull and here is what I found.

Needless to say, I am not happy about this and still have not figured out what to do. This does not look like hull damage. This looks to me like a hull defect. I have a bad feeling that this is going to leave me without a boat for several weeks and we have the Super Teams coming up at the end of the month.

Along with this, the last time I was on the lake I found a crack in the hull while cleaning it on the other side of the boat below the wrap. I plan on calling Skeeter in the morning and hopefully we can get this resolved quickly.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Good luck with that Mike... Call North Texas marine and get Michael to let you know the in's & out's before you call Skeeter.

It can't hurt to better informed before you start with Skeeter. I'm sure they will do the right thing it just may take 8 week's before you get water ready.

Call Michael at North Texas Fiberglass. 940-243-2628. Where is this located on the boat? Looks like it is next to the chine on the lower side of the boat. Your hull is obviously breached. In order to do a proper repair, you need to access it from the inside. This means either going through the floor or top cap removal. Don't take this as gospel, it all depends on where the damage is on the boat, it's hard to tell from the pics. Call Michael. Do you remember hitting anything? I don't see any scratches that are usually associated with hitting something. Did you come off any big waves and land hard? Was it rough out there?

PQ, Fork is a boat eater...You may want to get a fiberglass guy and put him on retainer for the rest of the year or better yet the rest of your boat ownership!! I feel for ya, heck I get one every year!!!

I agree with OZ.. Tee Post..

However, with that vertical crack on the port side... You may have some really big issues a head..

I would look at a complete hull replacement with Skeeter while the boats still new.. If the hulls bad you'll never get a break, except in it.. JM2C's

I would not be a happy camper..

Current theory is an air pocket in the chine and it is being covered under warranty. As soon as the service manager saw the damage he immediately said it was covered. It is already at North Texas Fiberglass and I should have it back by Thursday evening just in time to take the kids fishing on Friday -- Thanks Hawghunter...

LOL Zeeter....

I was asked by a few different people what boat I would get if I had to get a new one today and without hesitation I said... "SKEETER!" I absolutely love the ride and handling of my boat. Them Cats run a close 2nd but I've always loved Skeeters.

Got my boat back from North Texas Fiberglass today and it is PERFECT!!!!! Chris (hawghunter08) did an outstanding job on the fiberglass/gelcoat work. I cannot even find where the repair was done.

A huge THANK YOU to both Hawghunter08 & Mike Bristow at North Texas Fiberglass. I'm a very happy customer...

chris fixed it? you might want to consider wearing a life jacket at all times in the boat now

Congrats on getting the boat back so quick. I have heard nothing but good things about North Texas Fiberglass. Way to go Chris. Now I don't have to lend PQ my boat for his next tournament :-)

Mike, congrats on the good experience with something not so good. It's great to hear that those circumstances can work out every once in a while. Good thread!

OZ, I am still putting JB weld into the Javelin. Good stuff. I am heading to Sam's this weekend to see if they have it in bulk;)
