Man guys all I can say is wow! Let me start out by saying thank you so much for the support and the congrats after it was all over. Both Saturday and Sunday were pretty interesting so I'll try to sum it up the best I can. Picou don't get mad at my writing skills :-).

My regular partner Jason had his little girl last Wed. morning so back a few months ago Eric and I decided to fish this thing together. Eric is one of my good friends but never fished a tourney together, always against one another battleing for spots in the money. Well Saturday morning came around and our plan was to go all the way to Birch for one fish (on bed). Eric had found her Thursday and was 15 7/8 in long and weighed over three pounds...so we figured we would go catch her and put her in as our kicker fish. So after take off we let the ol yamamama scream all the way down to Birch and I'm personally not much on Birch. We got to where she was and the water was real muddy but we knew where her bed was behind this bush in the water. So since Eric found her he started trying to catch her, couldn't see her just her bed. Well about the fourth flip in we saw her tail come to the top like she was nosing on the bait so I grabbed the net because I knew what was about to happen. About that time Eric sets the hook and all you heard was "pop" loud as hell and Eric said she broke. Anyway the fish comes up and jumps about 4 times with an ol mad man craw haging out of mouth and nothing we could do but say a few choice words. Waited about 45 minutes to see if she would come back but never did. This was a real blow but, we regrouped and ran completely back to the other end of the lake were we had done real good all year and had several holes holding good unders. Got to the other end of the lake and stayed in 3 holes the rest of the day and it all came together in the end. Starting catching small keepers at the beginning but then upgraded from then. Lots of sight fishing and weightless action and ended up with 10.68lb sack on the day. If you would have asked me how much we had before we weighed in I would have said around 9, no way did I think we had that much. When everyone kept weighing in, Picou came and said dude your in 4th right now I couldn't beleive it. I couldn't stand there and watch so I walked back over to the boat to keep from watching all the sacks coming in. I heard there was another over and possibly one more so I figured we were out of Sunday, but in the end we held on to 6th for Saturday.

Sunday came around and we were both feeling like we had a good chance at winning it because of where the hole couse was. I had bedding fish in two of the holes and Eric had fish in two other holes so we were pumped. The holes were between 154 bridge and 515 east bridge....Rogers, Bell, Taylor, Searcy, Bird Island, Long Branch and the kicker hole Public Boat ramp next to the bridge by Glade lol. This was our last hole of the day since they cancelled happy hour due to the storms, and was here when the hail was about to hit. Felt like I was at DFW airport or a boat parade. Needless to say fished for only about 10 min and both decided to go in with what we had. Caught fish out of every hole sight fishing and weightless action again. One thing that kept you on your toes was you only had like 50 minutes to fish each hole because you had to be with in casting distance of your next hole by one minute after. Well most of the fish we had patterned where in the very backs of all these creeks, so idling to the back took a majority of the hour. Anyway, we put together a sack that weighed 8.44 lbs and was enough to take the shoot out.

Like I said thanks to all (for sure Eric for being a he** of stick and great partner) and all I can still say is WOW.

Zach.
