A good friend of mine asked me if I knew anything about Acadia Sports equipment. I know nothing so I told him I would ask you guys. So does any body know of this Irving company?

That's funny... I just got an envelope from them today. I have read all of the material, looked at the pictures, and must admit that I am going to spend the $50 to see the quality of these. Worst case, my kids will fish with them.

I cannot believe that a company can sell a quality rod for that price... I know what some of the companies pay for quality cork, reel seats, guides, and blanks.

In order to make these prices profitable, he must have made one massive bulk order to get the price right or he is using inferior parts. I can how he may have worked a deal with a company to build the blanks for dirt cheap but I am inclined to question the quality of the blank. What the blank is made of is only half the equation. The process and process controls when putting that blank together is just as important as the materials used to construct it.

So, I think I will fall victim to this marketting plan and waste the cash to try one out. Heck, it is an excuse to buy another reel... :-)

Be looking for a product review in the next month or so on this rod maker.

There is another maker coming out soon that I will be reviewing at the end of the month as well and I will be writing a review on them as well. Stay tuned... :-)
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

My friend got the same material in the mail and called them. They are located in Irving and you don't have to mail order the equipment. You can actually visit the warehouse an put your hands on it before you buy. He told me they said the prices are cheap because they don't spend alot of money on advertising and a fancy store.

I bought a couple of these rods last year. They are very sturdy but a little heavy. I will use mine when I'm in heavy grass or lilly pads. They will take allot of abuse.

Trevor won one at a flipping contest. They are very top heavy with the reel in place. He and I used it once and it sits in the closet,
