Ok, I have seen several attempts at quoting and I guess I need to go through how to do it the easy way. First off I want to point out the "Help/Instructions" link at the bottom of the forum page. When you click on that link then you can click on "Formatting" and it will instruct you on how to do all kinds of stuff -- quote, change font, change text color, etc... Ok, onto the today's topic -- Quotes. For all special formatting there is a keystroke that must come before the format action the "\" key. I believe this key is above the "enter" key on most keyboards. For a quote, the command line is "\quote{this is how you enter a quote}" looks like:
I like to take it a step further and reduce the font size on quotes so I enter an additional formatting structure: \quote{\-2{this is how to make the font smaller in a quote}} Looks like:
The pattern here is the "\" followed by the format command "quote" followed by the open bracket "{" then the "text to quote" and closed with the close braces "}" You can string several format commands together inside the braces of each format. \quote{\-2{\red{this is how to make the font smaller and red}}} Results in:
