I have not been on the water since I left for Baltimore, MD the first week of April, but I have scheduled a trip with a guide to fish the historical Potomac River in Washington, D.C. I am very excited and can't wait until this Friday when I get to fish once again. The guide tells me that the topwater bite is excellant in the a.m. Hopefully I will have some pics to post after the trip. Wish me luck!!!! Chuck GIG'EM AGGIES

Well, what can I say? I had a really great time fishing with Capt. Steve Chacona on Friday, but I felt like I was fishing with Tom. He caught fish and I missed fish!!! The morning started off with Steve catching a nice 4 lb. 9 oz. on a topwater popper 30 min into the day. I had a fish boil up on a frog, but it didn't get hooked. As the sun and temperature rose we moved from grass beds to timber and tried crankin up some fish. Steve managed to trick a couple of 1 pounders into biting and once again I was blanked. With the tide now out and water temps from 89 to 92 we went to weightless plastics. Again Capt. Steve landed two small ones and I missed a couple. We tried fishing under a small bridge and once again I got nailed good, but pulled the bait away from the fish. With all of the bad news delivered, I reaaly did have a good time. The scenary was awesome. We saw a few female Osprey's protecting their young chicks in the nest and many beautiful homes right on the shoreline of the Potomac River. Capt. Steve is a very knowlegable fisherman, having been quoted in Bassmaster Magazine and several other major publications plus writing for two local outdoor publications, and was willing to share all kinds of helpful information plus answer any and all questions. The weather here has been unbeleivably and unseasonaly hot which hopefully is part of the reason for not catching many fish. When the weather settles down I plan on going back and fishing the Potomac at least one more time while I am here. Sorry for the disappointing report, but that's fishing. At least, that is fishing for me. P.S.- One m ore thing. The traffic in Washington, DC absolutely SUCKS. (Message edited by chuck_a on June 14, 2008) Chuck GIG'EM AGGIES

Sounds like you had an interesting trip. Sorry to hear that the fish did not cooperate better. I hate it when they do that. Did you take any pics from the boat? I would still like to see what it looked like from the water. Sorry I missed your call. Thanking the Lord, all day long --- tomc

Despite the lack of catching, it sounds like you still had a good time and enjoyed yourself. I bet that was a totally different environment from these North Texas lakes. Thanks for the recap Chuck Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
