Corey's first All Star game was tonight in Denison and they came out victorious maintaining their position in the winners bracket and home team advantage for game 2 tomorrow night at 8:00. Our girls played awesome ball and will go into the next one with good momentum. I have a memory card full of images that I need to go through. I'll post some when I get a chance.  Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

After a 3 hour battle the Fannin Dixie team clawed their way to victory and maintained their position in the winner's bracket. I very proud of Corey for her performance tonight. Bottom of the third, down by 1 run, based loaded with 2 outs. Corey hit he ball with a 1 & 1 count down towards 1st base. She ran hard and fast and beat out the play at first and advanced the tieing run keeping the inning alive. There were several who came through in that inning and the next but I am most proud of her... We ended up winning in 5 innings 23 to 17. On to the next game in the morning... Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Game number 3 was a grind but the Fannin Dixie girls battled it out and secured yet another victory, maintaining home field advantage going into game 4. This morning we played "Howe" and it was a close game all the way to the end. The Fannin girls worked hard each inning and were able to rebound from any runs scored by the Howe team each inning. The 1st inning ended with Fannin leading 2 - 1. Top of the 2nd, Howe managed to battle out 2 more runs but the Fanning All Stars answered the call with 2 of their own and the inning ended 4 - 3. By the top of the 5th the score was Fannin 7, Howe 5. With only 2 outs needed for Fannin to secure the win, Howe loaded the bases and the pressure was on for the Fannin defense to fight off the impending threat. The ball was hit back to the pitcher, Skyler, who cleanly fielded the ball and threw it to home plate for the lead out. From the stands the crowd was yelling -- "THROW IT TO FIRST!!!" The catcher rocketed the ball to first base, making the 3rd out, and clinching the victory for the Fannin Dixie team. Apparently the batter lost her shoe running to first base and turned around to go get it instead of continuing to the bag. The umpire called the game and the Fannin crowd roared with celebration. We play again tonight at 8:00pm on the Culpepper North field. Denison has already lost 1 game and if we can hold them off we move to the Championship game where we suspect we will see Howe one more time. Game 4 was rained out and rescheduled for 4:00 tomorrow. I sure hope they move the 7:00 game because the girls will be toasted if they play 2 games back to back. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
