I just got off the phone with one of the coaches of our team and she informed me that we are seeking donations to offset the cost for the families.

"FTN-Webs/Fishing Texas Network" is donating $250 to the effort because I want to make sure that every kid on the team and their parents can make it.

The Trenton Sports Association is a non-profit organization so any donations are tax deductible.

If a business would like to make a donation and have their name displayed as a supporter, they are having a banner made that will be placed on the Fannin Dixie dugout during each game.

Any and all donations are greatly appreciated and I can get receipts from the TSA for tax purposes.

As you can already imagine, I will be providing updates from the tournament while down there. I'm very excited for these girls and look forward to helping them in any way I can.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

There has been a bank account opened up under the TSA umbrella named "Fannin Dixie All Stars" and checks can be made payable to that account.

Wes, if the donator wants their name on the banner we need the money by Monday. Else, by Wednesday so it can be placed in the bank no later than Thursday before being distributed Friday.

Chuck, I'll do that some time today.

Thanks Guys... We are also having a dessert auction at the Trenton High School on Sunday and I hear there are some other items available also -- FC Dallas soccer tickets and Heard Museum tickets.

I found out last night that they need the money by Monday night because they plan on distributing it Wednesday. I apologize for not being more proactive about the effort.

Update on the fund raising activities...

The dessert auction tonight hit the mark and we were able to exceed our goal by $400 so it looks like there are no excuses. The little town of Trenton Texas never ceases to amaze me with it's giving spirit. Connie auctioned off 2 certs for horseback riding lessons and they brought like $245. I auctioned off a day on Lake Fork and it brought $135. Cakes were selling for up to $150 each and a tin full of cupcakes was bringing $45. Heck, one person paid $85 for 2 dozen chocolate chip cookies... There was a 20 gauge shotgun, FC Dallas Soccer tickets, family meal vouchers, and many other things that helped us raise $3500 during the auction.

Thank you to everyone's offer to help in this and I'm sorry that I did not get back with you sooner but hold on to it because if we win this one we have to get the girls to Florida... :-)

These people obviously don't know what a accomplished fisherman you are. I wonder if a trip with the famous KBD team would have brought in more $$$$$$

Im sorry I missed this. I would have gone $150, at least, since the $$$ goes to a good cause.
Are you gonna repeat this offer if they make it to Fla???

LMAO Basshunter... :-)

Scott, if they win this tournament then we will definately be repeating the effort and I am sure I will do the same offer at the next auction.

There is a side benefit my wife didn't realize -- another day on the water for me... :-)
