Guys, this time of year in the north, or in the south can be very dangerous if you get over exposed..

Heat stroke dehydration etc.. **This stuff is serious.** First off I want to warn everyone about the possible consequences.

Use your head and don't over do it.

What precautions do you take to ward off the awful effects this (oppressive heat) can bring to a body??

I suffered a mid-level heat stroke 5-years ago, it took 1-full year to get my strength
back after that collapse, I was 45 yrs old.
It was a scary few days before I felt any where near normal..

Most strokes are from men in the 40-50 age group because they try and do to much in the extreme heat, and many pay the ultimate price for being “TUFF”

Mine was in August, and that starts tomorrow.. Be smart, be safe and live long.

Good advise Billy,
I know I've come close at times. Jumping in the lake is a good idea while wearing a life vest of course! Lots of water!! some time heading to a bridge is a good idea finding shade! I like my Cowboy hat to keep cool also!!

Drink lots of water and gatorade before and while on the water. Try to avoid caffenie and booze prior to going. I would also keep a two small towels onboard. Keeping one towel soaking in ice while the other is draped over my head or neck. Like Oz said, head for shade.
