OK been fishing Fork for close to a year now every chance I get. Fished the Media and shoulda coulda woulda been in the money. Caught overs prefishing twice the day before the tourney that would have won then went back and caught all slots the day of the tourney. So who here can put me on a few summer holes for unders? I figure the fish are suspended but haven't been able to graph shad or large groups of fish in this heat lately.

Many folks here will be fishin' Media this month. We normally post GPS coordinates when we find the good unders and overs. Keep your eyes peeled for the upcoming posts.
I will be heading out once or twice before the 16th. I am clueless in August. Deep water is not my forte. Your guess is as good as mine;)

There are at least 3 Media Lake Fork Division Teams on here so getting any specific details may be difficult. I have not been on the water since the Skeeter Owner's event (or maybe it was the Media Teams) but when I do finally make it to the lake I will be looking mostly for the early bite shallow on points then moving out to slightly deeper water ditches for some drop shot or CR fishing. My target is simply 5 unders to maintain Charles and I's points position.

Yeah thats why I dont even associate with them.....they always tell me bright pink buzzbaits by the dam.

Man I could do so much better if they would just help me out once in a while. What ever happened to helping a poor kid out just trying to catch a few bass.

That's ok may take me awhile but those boys are going goin down to a redneck yankee out fishin em on there home water. Especially after Sinkey says stuff like "I pretty much exel at deep water fishing this time of year". Like I said on the other post 30 feet aint deep after growin up chasin steelhead suspended at 200 feet over 700 feet of water 20 to 30 miles from shore on a real lake.

I keep hearing about this Lake Fork. Can anybody tell where it's located and what is the best way to catch a fish or two?

Thanks!

Well I'm rooting for you yankster....the older they get the more vulnerable they are hehehehehehe:-)

But don't bash the lakes here boss, 700 ft deep and 20-30 miles out just sounds like more dollar signs and quite a bit more risk involved which = DUMB

My thought of a real lake is where you can go to and catch hog after hog after hog after hog, that has road beds, humps, creek channels, trees, grass, and maxes out at about 50 ft deep with protected areas to get away from the wind located in East Texas preferably in Emory........oh wait thats FORK and we have that here.......

Heck yeah......we do have real lakes here what a relief

Don't get me wrong here fellas. Growin up on lake ontario my whole life, it took me over two years after moving to Texas to find my way. Can't explain what it is or where it comes from but knew I found it after fishin Fork for the first time. Different kinda a fishin yeah but feel like a kid startin over and its only a matter of time. Cause after chasin schools of steelhead my whole life on big water compared to most down here I'm sure I pretty much exel at fishin really really really deep.

You boys still knock the 7 ft leader, but all I need to say about it is..."SCOREBOARD"!

This is a good site to gain Fork knowledge. The best of the best are on here. Ill tell ya all you need to know after Aug. 16th.

Dont listen to Zach, he puts "extra" tabacco in his cigs!

Anybody fishing out there this weekend? I think Im going to participate in the night tourney out there on Saturday.

Thanks RedSkeeter the TFFers got really peeved over whatever -people take things to serious when folks are just breakin em a little sometimes. You and Sinkey should check the bottom of your boat cause we slapped a tracking bleepy thing on there that records your every stop and tranmits it to our GPS. Like that deep grass spot in the timber by the bridge fish top water early by the island then well you know.

Picou man people really do hate yankees down here have us all sterotyped sayin how rude arogant and obnoxious we are. Its kinda funny really cause that's what upstaters think of Long Islanders and New York City types that come upstate to fish and hunt. I mean think about it what the hell does someone from around Buffalo have to be arogant about. Except fishin.

I don't think it is a general rule that people down here hate yankees. I think that unfortunately the stereo typical comments are made in jest too early both ways and people get on the defensive immediately following them and it is all down hill from there.

Admit it or not, you came on strong and it appeared negative/insulting. I've got to believe that you did not intend to insult or hurt anyone. If you say you were not calling/texting Zeeter's cell, I believe you. I also believe that Zach is not lying about someone calling his cell phone and saying they were you. Although there are several people who post on this site, there are 3 or 4 times more who just lurk. It is not impossible for someone he knows to be mucking with him.

Change that word to proud and I would be happy to agree with your statement... :-)

Again, welcome to the ramp. There are a lot of good folks on here that I consider my friends. Some of them I met thru this site. I'm proud to know them and proud to fish with or against them in competition and for fun. This site is all about having a good time and sharing experiences. Ribbin each other is part of the gig but knowing how far it can be taken with each person is the challenge.

Anyway, I'm off my soap box now...

Im a Texan and I dont hate NYers! Im married to one and she is the best thing to ever happen to me.

My theory: There are a**es that live everywhere. NY just has a larger percentage than Texas. If any Texans want to argue against this point, just drive around Dallas at 5:00pm on a Monday afternoon and see how many "birds" you see flying. :-)

The kids are grown and all I have is time to put on the water. Would rather be on Fork than anywhere else really except a wilderness lake me my dad and sons go to near Magnetawan Ontario. Got some catchin up to do down here with out a doubt but have the want to.

Fork is a great lake that has an allure that none other in the state of Texas posess. Some people don't get it and that is fine. I started fishing Fork back in 92 or 93 from the shore and then got a cheap boat to get me out on the water. From there it is just all down hill. If I could talk my wife into a lake lot out there I would already be a property owner but that is not going to happen until someone opens up some equestrian facilities near by.

Yank, are you fishing the last Media on the 16th? If so, I look forward to meeting you either before takeoff or at weigh in. I'll be the one giving the invocation before take off.

Would rather keep to myself till we cash a check. You boys must be havin fun spending Yankee bucks. Kinda a embareassed where we're settin, had high hopes early in the year got on some good fish during prefishing then got humbled in a hurry. Can't get used to hookin up and yellin its to big on them slots. We'll figure em out just a matter of puttin more time on the water. Having fun learning the lake though kinda got boring up north cause we been hittin the same holes same time of year since we were boys.

Thanks Ozzie. Nice fish. Where in NY are you from? I came here after kids went off to college. Haven't shoveled snow going on 5 years now. Only thing I miss is fall pheasant and grouse hunting. Trained and bred pointers and weims up there. Was looking forward to quail hunting before I got down here but not many birds around.

Endicott, N.Y. 1 hour south of Syracuse. I’ve been grouse hunting many times. They'll scare the tar out of you when you kick them up. Pheasant are the best eating birds I've ever had! I’ll be heading back in October. As far as Fork goes there are a bunch of us here at the ramp. I just play around out there!
