So is that a rainbow or a steelhead? That would be a lot of fun on a fly rod. At least until the point that I could no longer feel my fingers -- about 10 minutes into it... Great stuff... Bring on some more of them Yankee fish pictures. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

You are right about the perception that all of NY is like the city. Just like everyone from NY thinks Texans all have cows! lol I was really surprised the first time I went to Long Island and we were driving through the countryside. There isnt a way to explain the Hamptons....mansions & little farms all mixed together. Very unique. Speaking of Southhampton, spent a lot of time surf fishing there. Caught lots of stripers and a few fish that I didnt even know what they were. (used the pliars to unhook those, just in case) Scott T

Picou a steelhead is just a Lake run rainbow. They live in the lake most of the year and get bigger than stream rainbows and come up stream during the spawning runs. In the early spring there darker like that with a lot of red on em. In the summer we call em silver bullets cause they look like a coors light can. |

This is the last Yankee pic - don't wanna get zeeter ragin on me again he had be diggin for my hockey gear. (Message edited by nyyankee on August 10, 2008) |

Another great fish... What is that one? I'm pretty sure it is in the salmon family -- king maybe? That's too funny on the water depth. I cannot fathom fishing in water that deep. Have you any idea how far off shore you have to go in the Gulf off around Texas to get those water depths? We were 8 miles offshore and on top of the reef was 35' while the edges were only 50'. Here is my king from our last trip out:

BTW: I trimmed the fat off of this topic and renamed it. I believe we are past the issues caused by the phone prank which we will all laugh about later -- except Jason... Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Speaking of NY. I just got back from a trip home to visit the folks and the weather was perfect. 58-84 all week and rain showers almost every day. Here are a few NY fish I landed while there. The Pike was from the 1000 islands on the St Lawrence sea way in Alexandria Bay… (Message edited by admin on August 12, 2008) OzzieFish "Glory to GOD in the Highest"
