Yestereday afternoon I got back into town from a business trip and made it to the house by around 4:00 pm. I have been running hard and fast lately and you have not been posting much lately. I also have not had much time for "Fun" either. I decided it was way past time to slide my "new" (used) Tarpon 120 kayak into the water. There is a pond only about 75 yards from my house and I have not found/made the time to try it out yet.

I took my ultra lite spin casting and some road runners along with my yak and paddle down to the water and slid her in. paddled around a few minutes and marveled at how light the Onno paddle was and how quickly I made it around the small pond (0.75 acres)

Spent the next hour paddling/ drifting and getting used to the rudder while doing some fishing. On the first cast with the purple roadrunner, BAM , the rod bent, a little drag went out and then I turned him and brought him to the surface where he jumped once. Landed and released a nice little 10" bass. Total: Caught and released 8 bass. All of them small, ranging from 7 to 10 inches in length. they were all fun since I had the lite tackle and were my first from the yak.

looking forward to the next trip. Not sure when that will be as work is still nuts,
I am still finishing the remodle on the house and unpacking from the move and hunting season is upon us.
Love to fish and hunt.

Greg, I believe you. I personally do not know anyone who would make up catching 7" bass.

Glad to hear you made it out to catch some fish. Sounds like a great time in the Yak...

Congrats bud.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
