Mattern Guide Service on Sam Rayburn & Palestine
Hello Everybody,

Deuteronomy 7: Verses 6&7; For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.

The Lord did not set His love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people, for ye were the fewest of all people.

SAM RAYBURN: This week fishing was hot to hard: Thursday Bass up to almost 10 lbs. was caught on Nichols 1/2 ounce spinnerbaits early and then going to Phantom Stinkos rigged wacky style along grass produced over 50 Bass Thursday up to 7 lbs.

Colors were blue shad on the spinnerbaits and natural on the stinkos.

This Media Championship I could not buy a bite on what was working on Thursday I went to a red trap to catch 2 small limits for 2 days to finish 41 st. Talk about the agony of defeat. Going to be back at them this week trying to figure them out.

Lake is the lowest I have seen it in a long time. Be careful out there and make long wide swings around points and Islands. Do Not try going behind bird Island. One boat stuck his boat on the sandbars their and I know it ruined his tournament. There is a gut there but you have to stay exactly in it. Too chancy.

Water temps are running about 69-73 degrees and the water is stained in most of the Lake except Farmers flat and water close to it.

LAKE PALESTNE: Same kinda bite was going on there also this week. Cloudy days brought an awesome bite up to 6 lbs. on yellow magics or poppers worked around grass in the back of the coves.

Brighter days was difficult with most bass being small. Flukes and trick worms worked best worked in the same areas bigger bass were working on cloudy days. Water level is at about full pool with water temps in the upper 69-72 degrees. Water is off color up North getting clearer from Mid-Lake to Dam areas.

Call me to book a trip on Sam Rayburn Guide or Lake Palestine Guide. Call me at 903-478-2633 or 903-724-1203.

Thanks to my sponsors and by the way Matt at the Boat center for Ranger boats will beat any Big City price on a ranger and the yamaha VMax series 2 will save you so much gas it will almost pay your payment if you fish like me. God bless you in Jesus name.
