Mattern Guide Service on Sam Rayburn & Palestine
Hello Everybody,

ISAIAH 51: VERSES 11 & 12; Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return, and come with singing unto Zion: and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

I, even I, am He that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou should be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass;

SAM RAYBURN; Well water temps have been up and down with the air temps. They have reached up to 63-64 degrees on warmer days then dropped back down to the upper 50's on colder days.

There are 2 different kinds of Bass being caught the ones that have been in for awhile in the 10 foot or less depth. Which are brighter in colors.

But those others are lighter and are the staging Big Females that are comming in from the deep to stage and feed before the spawn.

Bass have been good to 6 lbs. being caught and about 7-15 bites a day being the norm.

Bass have been still hitting the lipless crankbaits in reds and oranges worked along Hydrilla as well as hard and sandy bottoms around wood cover in the Northern areas.

If you have been using a medium heavy rod and losing alot of the Bass jumping off on your lipless crankbaits or spinnerbaits. Call Kistler at 281-259-8033 and order you a couple Medium 7' - 7'6" rods. They hold the Bass on without ripping the hooks out of them. Just hold your rod down and keep the pressure on the Bass till you get Him in. This sure helped me and I know it will help you.

Water is Stained in some of the coves and clearer in others. The North end is surprisingly clearer than you would think.

Texas rigged Lizards and craws are working in darker colors such as Black Neons and Black and Blues. As well as the old favorites such as Watermelons and Green Pumpkins.

Carolina rigged creature baits in the same colors worked in the drains or creek channels leading to spawning grounds are producing some of the Larger sacks as well as DD22 crankbaits in Chartruse shad colors.

LAKE PALESTINE; Water temps are doing the same as Rayburn and were 58 degrees yesterday out. Alot of smaller Bass hitting the shallows with some quality Bass scaattered in them.

They have been hitting soft jerk baits in bubble gum colors or pinkish colors. Such as the Phantom Tackle natural purple with red glitter. You can call 1-800-866-9676 to get them. Talk to Jim or Linda.

Thanks and God Bless I would like to thank my sponsors:
