Mattern Guide Service on Sam Rayburn & Palestine
Hello Everybody,

HEBREWS 8: Verses 11 & 12; But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building.

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood He entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eterenal redemption for us.

SAM RAYBURN: Last week was interesting as two double digit Bass one 11.74 and another over 10 lbs. was caught out of Big Sam. I heard it was on Jigs.

Bass up to 11 lbs. on jigs is not bad. The Bigger females are comming up and cruising the shallows near ditches and drains. The Nichols Jigs have accounted for more than a couple real sows each year over 10 lbs. and up to 12 lbs. last year.

Water temps were running in the high 50's durring the cold days and with the air temps going to be in the 60's and highs in the upper 70's with this February full moon we can expect some great fishing this week.

Lipless crankbaits and spinnerbaits worked in drains and along flats have been catching some quality Bass.

Texas rigged lizards and crawworms have been catching quality Bass as well. The bite is slow but when you find them there are usually a pocket of them. So slow down and work the area good.

Carolina rigged creature baits are working in the deper grass in the creek channels leading to spawning flats.

LAKE PALESTINE: Palestine was fun this last week with some great clients. The Dees from Longview and I enjoyed fellowship as we caught about 20 Bass up to about 5 lbs. with Mrs. Dees catching the Big one.

Bass were hitting Trick worms and Phantom Stinkos rigged weightless Texas style and worked in the back pockets around vegetation. Good colors were green pumpkin chartruse tail, watermelon red pearl and for the Stinko the Natural purple with red glitter.

Water temps were in the upper 50's as well but there were Bass on beds in some back areas I like to Fish.
