Mattern Guide Service on Sam Rayburn & Palestine Hello Everybody, JOHN 14: Verses 15 & 16; If you love me, keep my commandments And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever. SAM RAYBURN: Well Bass fishing is getting back to normal with Bass up to 6 lbs. comming in this week. The early bite is really good with Bass hitting topwater. Plastic frogs such as Ribbit Frogs have been catching great. I have been using a single 5/0 frog hook that has a screw on the eye of the hook to put your frog on then run the hook through and lay it on the back of the frog. I have been using 50 lb. power pro braided line because of the location the frog is beeing fished in. Pads,Pepper Grass and heavy thick stuff. Also Tiny torpedos in shad patterns and small poppers have been catching also. Spinnerbaits caught some Bigger Bass up to about 6 lbs. Wacky rigged worms in redbug and black also caught. Water is up and clearing up because of the growing vegetation. Some Bass are a little scarred up from the spawn but alot of fry can be seen in the back pockets which insures a great future for our Bass. Call me for a guided trip for some great action. LAKE PALESTINE: Lake is full and water is clearing up and there is some great action going on with post spawn Bass putting on the feed bag. Topwaters early with frogs, tiny torpedos, poppers working well. Texas rigged Salty Mother Sinkers(which is a senko type baits made by Nichols Lures) in Watermelons and Junebug.
