I fished Lavon last thursday from 4:00pm until dark. Now, I have fished Lavon about a dozen times and have never done any good. Out of the dozen time I have only caught two (yes I said two) large mouth bass for a total weight of 2.5lbs. Well thursday I caught one large mouth bass that weighed 6.5lbs.

I was pumped. I still have aways to go before figuring out this lake, but I'm bound and determined to learn this lake.

Good job Charles! Did you get a pic? I am still trying to break the 6lb barrier! Way to go.

No pitures (camera is dead). I almost put in the live well and run back to the boat ramp. Mike Rouse was setting up for his Thursday night tournaments when I left. I figured he would have a camera and could weigh him on good set of scales. If I would have been entered in the tournament I would have taken 2nd place and won hundred something dollars.

I'm just pumped that I actually caught a decent bass out of that mud hole.

There are a few good-uns in there to be taken. My personal Lavon best was around 8 pounds on a crank bait. I know a guy who has several over 9 out of there (and I know where he fishes...) :-)

We'll head out there soon Charles...
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Just to give an up date on Lavon.

I've been going out a couple of times of week after work. Last Tuesday evening I had six keeper fish that would have weighed around the 13lb mark.

I didn't fish the last Thursday night tournament cause I took my son to see the new Star Wars movie (pretty good flick BTW).

I fished a tournament this past Saturday and caught my first keep at 1:30. My partner caught a keeper a few minutes later. We ran out of time and water on the pattern we had figured out. Who woulda thunk LMB would be in a 1/2' of water when the water temp was 80 degrees.

That is the same thing I figured out on Pat Mayes... They were shallow...
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
