Fished a specialty tournament on Lake Fork Sunday. We were only allowed to use Senko type baits and it was rainy all morning. We ended up boating a total of 9 bass for the day and 4 of them under the slot. We took 3rd place for the tournament and 1st place Big Bass with a 2.31# fish. All of our fish came on either black/blue 5" tiki-sticks or junebug 5" YUM. My largest for the day was a 6.7 pound fat girl and my partner pulled in a great looking 4.8 pounder. I had another slot fish in the 4 pound range that we just snapped a picture and released without measuring. The fish were holding tight to cover -- reeds or stumps I did manage one fish out in the middle of a sparse pad field. The water as you got up on either side of the lake was dirty from all the run off from the rains, but the main lake was in great shape and the level has come up a foot. There were still several fish on beds and lots of people fishing for them. Here are some pictures from the trip

Thanks, I will be on fork again this weekend and hopefully have more pictures to show and a better report because I will not be stuck with one type of bait to use. It was still enjoyable to get on the water and catch some fish. |
