Went fishing with a friend to Lake Fork on Saturday. Although it was raining pretty much all morning, the fishing was pretty decent. We ended up boating 6 bass & 1 grinnel, and lost a few others. The largest bass we put in the boat for the day was 9.4 pounds. We only fished till around 2:30 and called it a day. We were fishing main lake shorelines on the southern half of the lake. The lure that seemed to catch all the fish we landed was a watermelon fluke fished either weightless or split shot rigged. The fish were holding tight to cover -- timber and vegitation. The 9.4 pounder was still full of eggs and up in 2 foot of water. She was released where she was caught to finish her business. Good luck to all and be safe. |
