Bass fishing this past week was a blast. 6 days straight with clients and averaged 25 bass a day with several over 5 lb. all the way up to 9.9 Lb. Our best bite came in the afternoons. Most of our fish came from the open water vegetation dragging V&M Chopstiks and Pork Shad through the hydrilla and pad stems. The cypress trees have given up some decent bass too. Dark colored lizards and worms working here. Bass are in all stages right now. We are still catching bass full of eggs and without. There will still be good spring fishing through April and May this year. The lake is on the rise and water temps as of yesterday were between 60-63 with the cool rain we are currently getting. This has been my busiest Spring yet and I look forward to rest this season to be full of happy clients and sore fish lips... http://caddolakefishing.com (Message edited by chronarch on March 22, 2006) I changed the formatting a little for ease of viewing... Welcome to the site and great report Chronarch. Great picture -- wow... The smiles says it all about how great the fishing has been over there. Congrats!!!! Has the water come back up? I was there in November and it was 3 foot low I think. We did a family weekend for Thanksgiving and it was my first time on Caddo -- had a blast and caught some fish to boot... Thanks for posting the report and the picture and I hope to see more from Caddo Lake from you. If we do the family trip again this year, I will be looking to book a fishing trip. Awesome lake you fish down there and I would love to learn it a little better. I spent most of my time in the river when we were there. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

The Irving Bass Club was there for two days last weekend and it was one of the worst yet this year. I guess when you're out there all the time the lake gets small and you can zero in on fish. That lake has alway been hard for me to fish. I've never had a great day out there. Not a big fan...However it is great place to be. OzzieFish "In GOD I trust"

Ozziefish, I was out there during all the tournament that weekend and saw that most guys were going to the trees which is usually the norm for this time of the year, but here lately the open water grass and pads have been the ticket fishing fluke and senko type baits slowly through the green stuff. I know they were all pretty disappointed. The club has been fishing out there for 30years. I like fishing it a little later in spring myself. Great sack of fish... Best wishes Ozzie OzzieFish "In GOD I trust"
