Well, it was a rough tournament fishing along side 864 other boats in the Skeeter Owner's Tournament this past weekend. Although we did not manage to cash a check, we did manage to catch a few under the slot fish and have a good time on the water. It appears that the bass have really moved into a summer time pattern and if you can find them stacked up in deep water you will be on fire. Our problem was that we could not get on the deep water bite so we went back shallow and fished the pads looking for the perfect under. All we found were dinks under 14 inches -- 9 of them to be specific. These fish came on mostly splitshot lizards or flukes in watermelon pepper. One fish came out of 14' of water on a CR lizard and it too was a dink.

None the less, we had a good time... I hope to go back to the lake soon and get on that deep water bite.
