The water temps have dropped about 16 degrees from 72 to 56 in the mornings in the past 36-48 hrs with the cold arctic blast that has pushed through. The lake is a few inches high and stable.
The water should warm back this week with the warmer temps on the way. Most of our fish over the past few days have been coming on light colored spinnerbaits and swimjigs fished around the shallow cypress and vegetation mix.
Junebug, watermelon, and redbug colored lizards and senko type baits are working on the cypress also. The vegetation like pads and hydrilla are beginning to top out on the lake so get your flukes, frogs, and buzzbaits ready because once the water warms the topwater bite should be hot for the next couple of months.
