Mattern Guide Service on Lake Palestine & Sam Rayburn Hello everybody, ISAIAH 55:Verse 11; So shall my Word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing where to I sent it. LAKE PALESTINE; The water temps are running 65-71 degrees. Water is stained in most of the Lake with clear water areas in the backwaters. Bass fishing is Fair with Bass are good up to 6 lbs. with aboput 10-15 Bass per day comming to the boat. Some Bass on Beds and some already through with Bass in Spawn and Post Spawn right now. Good baits were twin tailed grubs (Watermelon seed) on a 3/0 ewg hook. Work it around vegetation in coves and creek channels. Some good 4 lbers. were caught this week with that pattern. Finesse worms also and craw worms watermelon red worked also. Plastic frogs were working well on top before cool spell but after it warms up the frog bite will be awesome again. Great fishing. SAM RAYBURN: Water temps are running 66-72 degrees. Water off color most of Lake. Most of the Bigger Bass have already dropped their eggs and moved out to the staging areas. Main Lake Points and the deeper flats of Hydrilla are holding Big Bass right now in the Post Spawn Stage. Carolina rigged French Fries-Creature Baits-Lizards & Flukes. Good colors are Watermelon's & Green Pumopkins. In closer Finesse worms and wacky's catching alot of Bass up to 4 lbs. 25-30 Bass a day have been comming to the boat. With all great clients the Last 2 weeks. May after the Bigger females have healed up they will prowl the shallows early before descending down into those protective haunts.
